- Found and lead the Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE)
- Lead the development and delivery of the Learning and Teaching Strategy
- Build an institutional culture of student-centered, innovative teaching
- Drive continuous enhancement of assessment and feedback practice
- Lead academic induction, probation support, mentoring, and peer learning
- Lead Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for academic staff
- Equip staff to teach effectively in a digital, AI-enabled environment
- Work with Programme Directors to keep curricula current, interdisciplinary, and future-focused
- Integrate AI, digital technologies, and sustainability into curricula
- Lead the responsible adoption of AI and educational technology
- Drive continuous improvement of blended and online learning
- Manage Gisma's Canvas environment
- Establish an institution-wide academic skills program
- Strengthen student outcomes through academic skills support
- Build employer and professional body partnerships
- Establish advisory panels with employers and professional bodies
- Arrange guest lectures from industry professionals
- Facilitate live projects and placements with employers
- Keep teaching relevant to workforce needs
- Lead horizon-scanning on future skills
- Promote entrepreneurship education
- Promote challenge-based learning
- Promote industry collaboration as part of knowledge exchange
- Build Communities of Practice
- Support the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
- Work closely with AQSU, Heads of Department, Registry, Careers and Employability, Student Success, and the Digital Learning Team
- Establish the CTLE's structure and ways of working
- Develop Gisma's Learning and Teaching Strategy
- Launch induction, mentoring, and CPD provision for academic staff
- Launch academic skills support for students
- Establish an employer advisory network
- Agree a Teaching Observation Framework with AQSU
