Tax Manager - European Customer Taxes(m/w/x)
Designing and maintaining retail tax statements for a global financial services firm, ensuring compliance across diverse European reporting formats. 8-10 years of tax experience and European information reporting knowledge required. Performance-based discretionary cash bonus, discretionary stock grant.
Anforderungen
- 8-10 years experience in tax with focus on investment activities
- Experience in financial services, brokerage, asset management, Big 4, or tax advisory (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
- Professional tax qualification (CTA, ADIT, or equivalent) (strongly preferred)
- Robust technical knowledge and operational experience in European information reporting and withholding tax requirements
- Knowledge of country-specific reporting obligations and forms in major European jurisdictions
- Knowledge of withholding tax rules, rates, and treaty relief procedures
- Knowledge of customer tax documentation requirements and validation processes
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks (CRS, DAC reporting, etc.)
- Strong technical knowledge of tax treatment for retail investors and investment products (Equities, bonds, Mutual funds, ETFs, Derivatives, FX, Corporate actions)
- Solid understanding of capital gains, dividend, interest, and withholding tax rules in European countries
- Knowledge of cross-border taxation issues, tax treaty provisions, and beneficial ownership concepts
- Experience drafting functional requirements for tax technology systems
- Excellent attention to detail

- Experience with automated tax reporting and withholding systems
- Experience with tax technology platforms
- Direct experience in brokerage operations
- Direct experience in investment product mechanics
- Experience with tax reporting and withholding in multiple European countries
- Knowledge of financial transaction taxes in European markets
- Experience managing tax audits or penalty abatement processes
- Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740-10)

- Create and maintain customer tax statements for European retail clients.
- Ensure statements cover diverse investment products.
- Ensure tax statements comply with European reporting requirements.
- Review and validate tax calculations for accuracy.
- Verify calculations for capital gains, dividends, and withholding taxes.
- Partner with Technology to enhance tax statement processes.
- Create customer guidance on tax statements and reporting.
- Research and analyze product offerings for tax implications.
- Determine European reporting and withholding tax obligations.
- Provide technical guidance on investment product tax treatment.
- Draft functional requirements for tax reporting software features.
- Develop and maintain tax calculation methodologies for complex products.
- Monitor and analyze new European tax laws and changes.
- Research laws impacting customer reporting and withholding tax.
- Assess legislative changes on company processes and systems.
- Communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and design system improvements for tax automation.
- Automate customer tax documentation and reporting processes.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures.
- Document procedures for tax reporting and statement preparation.
- Assist with research and development of tax technologies.
- Integrate new tax technologies for data collection.
- Contribute to special projects on customer tax reporting.
