Anforderungen
- BSc. or MSc. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 2+ years in propulsion or high-energy system testing, with strong exposure to test operations and execution
- Strong understanding of rocket propulsion required, experience in solid rocket motors a plus
- Experience in propulsion testing (static firing, ignition system validation) a strong plus
- Experience with energetic materials, propellants, pyrotechnic devices, or high-pressure systems highly required
- Demonstrated experience in test planning, procedural definition, and hands-on test execution
- Strong background in test safety (hazard identification, risk assessments, explosive safety, emergency response planning)
- Familiarity with propulsion test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Ability to operate calmly and decisively during time-critical ignition and firing operations
- Strong communication skills, ability to lead test activities and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary development team
- Fluency in English required, German is a plus
Aufgaben
- Plan, coordinate, and execute solid rocket motor and igniter test campaigns
- Define and author test plans and procedures for SRM and igniter testing
- Lead test readiness reviews and pre-test briefings
- Develop and implement safety concepts, hazard analyses, and contingency plans
- Develop and implement emergency procedures for energetic systems
- Act as test conductor during live firings
- Coordinate personnel and enforce safety zones during tests
- Make technical decisions to achieve test objectives
- Respond to off-nominal or abort conditions during tests
- Ensure compliance with internal safety standards and regulations
- Support definition and validation of instrumentation and data acquisition requirements
- Oversee test setup integration, inspection, and verification
- Lead or support test anomaly and incident investigations
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Produce high-quality test documentation, including reports and lessons learned
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align test objectives and design maturity
- Support development and improvement of test infrastructure and safety systems
- Act as testing/integration representative within cross-functional project teams
- Review mechanical and propulsion design concepts for testability
