Aufgaben

  • Design and build services for ingesting, curating, searching, and exposing scientific records
  • Operate high throughput data pipelines, REST APIs, and search infrastructure
  • Integrate AI-driven retrieval into production systems
  • Modernize and evolve the Scientific Information Service content platform
  • Advance backend services for INSPIRE, SCOAP3, and CERN Analysis Preservation
  • Expand Model Context Protocol services for AI clients
  • Evaluate harmonization of INSPIRE backend with the newer backoffice stack
  • Drive modernization of INSPIRE backend
  • Align digitization and archival services with the team's technology stack
  • Deliver large-scale migration to Access to Memory (AtoM) service
  • Review and migrate custom harvests to Apache Airflow
  • Retire or redesign non-retained harvests
  • Work with curators to decide on content retention
  • Automate ingestion pipelines where valuable
  • Maintain human oversight for expert decisions
  • Improve data quality, deduplication, and source coverage in pipelines
  • Expand Model Context Protocol services across INSPIRE and other team services
  • Develop and optimize search and discovery functionality on OpenSearch
  • Tune relevance and indexing strategies
  • Modernize digitization and archival services onto common frameworks
  • Migrate 35,000 new archival items to AtoM service
  • Maintain consistent metadata and data quality
  • Develop and automate connections between digitization and archival systems
  • Prepare ingestion pipelines for new file ingestion
  • Design and document REST APIs for internal and external use
  • Apply automated testing, code review, monitoring, and CI/CD
  • Support production through containerized deployments and performance tuning
  • Contribute team outputs to the open source community
