# Junior Field Engineer **Location:** Hannover, Germany | **Type:** Full time --- ****What you’ll be doing…**** As part of our growth plans, we're seeking a Field Telecom Engineer that has a real passion for delivering excellence and ensuring customer service is at the heart of everything we do. The Field Technician is responsible for carrying out 1st line installation, repair and maintenance activities on customer premises. You will be part of the Operations team delivering the local onsite support needed to ensure our customers receive a world class service. You will be looking after and involved with operations and maintenance of Verizon's Backbone Network (L1/L2\) and troubleshooting on existing network structures. You will also be responsible for: * Installation and implementation of Customer\- Data\- and Transport Network devices * Installation, Service and Repair work at customer locations * Maintenance of network circuits and equipment * Performing fibre\-optic cable testing:  ILM and OTDR measurements * Localization of  Fiber breaks, monitoring of repair \& construction work. Coordination of Emergency repairs on the Verizon Backbone * Perform installation and maintenance tasks on European fibre\-optic cable infrastructure and repeater stations \- ISO 9001 certified * 24x7 On Call Support  Hannover region ****What we’re looking for...**** You’ll need to have: * Network\-/IT Technician ("IT\-Systemelektroniker") or Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience * Experience in optical Transport Networks (SDH/DWDM/OTM) * Experience in the key areas:  Public/Private IP, Ethernet\-Technology, fiber\-optic\-technology * Experience with Ethernet Service Implementation * Experience with Ciena, Cisco, Juniper and equivalent LAN/WAN/WLAN Technology * Certifications like CCNA preferred, but not required * Fluent English in written and spoken * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team * Driver’s license **Where you'll be working** In this worksite\-based role, you'll work onsite at a defined location(s). ## Scheduled Weekly Hours 40## Diversity and Inclusion We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
