If you are unable to complete our online application form due to a disability, please send an email to ilojobs@ilo.org ## Introduction The position is located in the Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Branch (GEDI) within the Conditions of Work and Equality Department (WORKQUALITY). GEDI is responsible for promoting gender equality, inclusion and respect for diversity in the world of work, in an integrated and comprehensive manner. The incumbent will report directly to the Senior Specialist, Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, of the Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Branch, under the overall supervision of the Branch Chief. ## Key Duties and Responsibilities 1.    Draft and/or provide technical input into the development, peer review and editing of policy briefs, working papers, reports, publications and other knowledge products and contribute to their dissemination. Provide evidence-based technical content for social media, digital and other knowledge-sharing tools and platforms, with a view to reaching broad and diverse audiences. 2.    Provide inputs to the development of training materials and tools relating to gender equality and non-discrimination. 3.    Provide technical support to the implementation of development cooperation projects aimed at operationalizing the theory of change for a gender equality transformative agenda. 4.    Liaise with and provide support to other teams within GEDI to foster an integrated and intersectional approach to gender equality, ensuring collaboration with other teams within WORKQUALITY and other ILO Departments. 5.    Liaise with colleagues within the Branch and in ILO fields offices in the provision of technical assistance to ILO constituents on a wide range of gender equality and non-discrimination related topics with attention to the care economy, violence and harassment at work, pay equity, digital and just transitions, conflict and fragility and other emerging issues. 6.    Provide technical support to GEDI and the ILO regional and country offices in terms of monitoring, implementation and reporting under Outcome 5 of the Programme & Budget, including by mapping and reviewing all CPOs and GLOs under Outcome 5, providing guidance on the result measurement framework and supporting the OBW reviews and reporting processes. 7.    Enhance knowledge management and sharing, including through mapping exercises and collection and storage of information using new technologies. 8.    Participate in the organization of global and regional events, training sessions, workshops and meetings, including through the use of technology, and in supporting ongoing and new initiatives at UN level through collaboration. 9.    Assist in coordinating the monitoring and implementation of the ILO Gender Equality Action Plan, including by liaising with custodians of targets and indicators, and assist in ensuring alignment with and reporting under the UN System-Wide Action Plan, while also building synergies with the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy. 10.    Assist in coordinating the ILO Global Gender Network, including through providing technical support to the network in its role in advancing gender equality and effective gender mainstreaming throughout the ILO. 11.    Participate in UN inter-agency networks and working groups, consultations and forums to engage with potential and existing partners to explain and promote ILO’s transformative agenda for gender equality in the world of work. 12.    Provide support in coordinating and delivering work relating to ILO quality control mechanisms such as appraisals of Decent Work Country Programmes and development cooperation projects. Engage in evaluation processes. 13.    Perform other relevant duties as assigned. ## Required qualifications ## Education Advanced level university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in economics, law, social and political science, anthropology, human rights, gender, or development studies or other relevant field. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in one of the afore-mentioned field(s) or other relevant field with an additional two years of relevant experience, in addition to the experience stated below, will be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. ## Experience At least five years of relevant experience in gender equality, non-discrimination, women’s rights and empowerment. ## Languages Excellent command of one official language (English, French, Spanish) of the Organization and a working knowledge of a second official language of the Organization. One of these languages must be English. Knowledge of a third working language of the Organization would be an advantage. ## Knowledge and technical/behavioural competencies In addition to the ILO core competencies, the following is required: * Knowledge and technical/behavioural competencies * Good knowledge and understanding of theories, trends and approaches in the area(s) of gender equality. * Knowledge of the substantive nature of Organization’s work programmes and activities. * Knowledge of IT applications for information collection, management and dissemination. * Ability to use analytical tools and qualitative and quantitative techniques. * Ability to identify sources and develop methods for data collection. * Good research and analytical skills. * Good drafting skills. * Ability to adapt quickly to new IT software and systems. * Good communication skills, presentation skills. Persuasion and ability to present technical arguments to convince counterparts on a course of action. * Ability to maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and work well in a tripartite context. * Ability to present/promote the technical area of work and the ILO's position on it to partners using a wide range of techniques and technologies. * Ability to assess, adapt and amend individual and group assignments (policies, approaches, models) to meet new or changed needs and situations. * Ability to share knowledge and provide technical advice and guidance in the technical area. * Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and to demonstrate and model gender-responsive, non-discriminatory and inclusive behaviour and attitudes.
