## About the team you are joining
IATA Sustainability and Economics’ core objectives are to contribute to airlines’ financial and environmental sustainability. In this capacity, we provide our airline members with sustainability and economic analyses, tools, and support that allows them to meet present and future obligations, measure themselves against the overall industry’s performance, and that supports their advocacy. Our division aims to be the leading research body in terms of air transportation, and we have a central role in advancing these issues that are of key importance to the industry.
You will report to the Head of Industry Analysis, and you will conduct research regarding the global air transport industry, monitor airline industry developments, produce forecasts, and contribute to cross-team research and operations.
## What your day would be like
You will perform passenger and cargo market analyses and forecasting. You are also encouraged to develop expertise in other areas of the department’s work.
The scope of your work includes producing monthly passenger and cargo market analyses, relevant contributions to other publications of the Industry Analysis workstream and of the Division, as well as producing ad hoc research in these areas.
Work on developing passenger forecasts and contribute to the development of forecasts and indicators of cargo markets. This also entails cross-team collaboration.
Support the department’s commercial objectives, assist with consulting projects, contribute to training programs, and assist with the Strategic Partners Economic program.
Collaborate across the Division, and notably with Economists in the regions.
Your research will provide economic arguments for advocacy purposes.
You will establish relations and regular exchanges with industry experts, inside and outside IATA.
## We would love to hear from you if
Postgraduate degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
A minimum of three years’ experience in the field of aviation business analysis, or similar.
Autonomy in terms of monitoring and describing current developments in the aviation industry using industry databases (IATA or external) as key sources for generating quantitative analyses.
Autonomy in terms of basic statistical analysis, common office software, and a high degree of numeracy.
Ability to coach and direct the work of more junior staff.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
Fluent English and excellent written English. Other languages an advantage.
