- Make sound architectural decisions
- Balance robustness, observability, cost, and maintainability
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders
- Transform ambiguous problems into ML solutions
- Operate ML systems across multiple markets
- Account for data distribution differences
- Comply with regulations and constraints
- Mentor data scientists with hands-on guidance
- Conduct design reviews
- Share ownership of systems
