Journeyman VI Administrator (VI, Storage, VDI)(m/w/x)

Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret clearance, TS/SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree or 8+ years relevant experience
- 8+ years NetApp/VMWARE vSphere/ESXI experience
- Strong NetApp/VMWARE concepts and best practices
- Expert knowledge of NetApp, ESXi hosts, clusters, vSAN/NAS/backup
- Support mission-critical Continuity of Operations (COOP)
- Develop/participate in After Action Reports (AARs)
- Establish security and cyber controls (STIGs, scans, logging, monitoring)
- Senior level knowledge of Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, VMWare Photon OS
- Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS, block/file/object storage, fiber channel switching
- Proficiency with NetApp, Dell/EMC, VMware ESXi
- Solid scripting skills and Linux/Windows administration
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or storage certifications
- VMware Certified Professional - DCV or DTM
- 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification

Tasks
- Configure, monitor, and maintain SAN, NAS, and cloud storage systems
- Ensure high performance for customer requirements
- Monitor storage utilization and forecast capacity needs
- Proactively address storage alerts to prevent downtime
- Manage automated backups, snapshots, and replication of critical video data
- Implement security standards for data storage
- Manage user access rights and comply with security requirements
- Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to address technical issues
- Implement vendor upgrades
- Configure and maintain enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp ONTAP)
- Monitor resource usage and adjust storage allocation
- Optimize performance for databases and virtual environments
- Lead backup and recovery operations (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
- Manage data replication (e.g., SnapMirror)
- Resolve high-level SAN/NAS incidents as a subject matter expert (SME)
- Enforce security policies and apply firmware updates
- Ensure systems meet industry standards (e.g., DISA STIGs)
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
- Support systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows Enterprise network
- Ensure effective and efficient operation and interconnectivity of a Department of Defense Network
- Correct deficiencies and improve system performance and efficiency
- Provide senior-level knowledge and Tier 3 support
- Build, configure, and administer several hundred servers
- Provide remote support and travel to customer sites as required
- Manage VDI solutions (VmWare Horizon preferred)
- Follow technical guidance from team members, leadership, and customers
- Liaise with stakeholders to identify risks and threats to VDI services
- Rapidly identify and correct faults impacting service delivery
- Develop and maintain VDI Virtual Apps and Desktops environments
- Develop and implement technical standards (SOP, TTP, implementation instructions)
- Monitor processes for information systems
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and track system optimization opportunities
- Drive efficiency and reduce error rates
- Empirically document customer experience
- Manage Windows system administrator functions supporting a global Active Directory (AD) infrastructure
- Communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and orally
- Present products and ideas in a business-like manner
- Work in dynamic, fast-paced environments requiring team interaction
- Coordinate efforts with client managers and system users
