Hydrogen Pump and System Specialist(m/w/x)
Lead LH2 feed system technical development for liquid hydrogen delivery. Cryogenic pump and fluid control component integration experience required. 30 days paid vacation, extra days off for special occasions.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Aerospace, Cryogenic, Mechanical Engineering, or related thermofluids
- Proven experience in design and integration of cryogenic pumps and fluid control components
- Deep understanding of cryogenic heat transfer, vacuum insulation, BOG management, leakage management, and two-phase flow physics
- Proficiency in system simulation tools for transient fluid analysis
- Knowledge of aerospace standards (e.g., ARP4754, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)
- Awareness of compliance risks and commitment to act with integrity
Tasks
- Lead LH2 feed system technical development
- Ensure reliable liquid hydrogen delivery
- Manage cryogenic pumping performance
- Maintain thermal and control stability
- Act as lead engineer for LH2 pumps and valves
- Represent pump and valve competencies in reviews
- Define active feed chain architecture
- Design critical interfaces for feed chain
- Specify cryogenic rotating machinery requirements
- Specify flow control component requirements
- Minimize heat leak in components
- Maximize suction performance (NPSH)
- Ensure component durability
- Develop safety concepts for feed lines
- Develop fail-safe concepts for feed lines
- Define 'cool-down' cycle procedures
- Define inerting procedures
- Define emergency shut-off procedures
- Lead Validation & Verification (V&V) strategy
- Design cryogenic test rigs
- Validate pump performance in tests
- Validate seal integrity in tests
- Validate flow accuracy in tests
