Requirements
- Master’s degree in mechanical, process, life science, or chemical engineering
- Preferably postgraduate training or a doctorate
- ≥8 years experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in internal and contract manufacturing organizations (CMO)
- Experience in large CAPEX project execution
- Several years in engineering and CMO environments
- Proven ability to reduce complexity
- Several years of leadership experience (direct and/or matrix)
- Strong creative leadership aligned with VACC model
- Track record of driving change courageously
- Ability to balance risks and ensure successful pacing
- Openness to recognizing and leveraging opportunities from change
- Proven delivery of cross-functional and CAPEX projects
- Strong knowledge of health authority requirements
- Experience executing registration-relevant technical changes
- Participation in health authority inspections or audits
- Solid understanding of safety, quality systems, and quality assurance
- Application of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
- Entrepreneurial, systemic “end-to-end” mindset
- Ability to perform consistently in dynamic environments
- Strong stakeholder management
- Ability to communicate and influence across all organizational levels
- Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
- Ideally experienced in process digitization initiatives
Tasks
- Provide technical and personal support to manufacturing units.
- Oversee and maintain overall asset health status.
- Derive reliability data for asset optimization.
- Plan asset refurbishment lifecycle investments.
- Plan asset end-of-life extensions.
- Act as primary contact for asset optimization, refurbishment, and decommissioning projects.
- Develop and promote strategic asset concepts.
- Interface with network asset management.
- Monitor and manage PTM Kaiseraugst asset health.
- Oversee asset spare parts management.
- Ensure reliability and availability of manufacturing assets.
- Manage spare parts obsolescence.
- Define critical spare parts.
- Manage strategic lifecycle of PTM Kaiseraugst assets.
- Collaborate with manufacturing units and support functions.
- Collaborate with the Project Organization.
- Incorporate asset lifecycle requirements into documentation.
- Establish, execute, and co-lead ALCM Huddles for manufacturing units.
- Ensure effective collaboration with support functions.
- Conduct technical equipment analyses.
- Perform OEE assessments.
- Implement condition-based maintenance.
- Implement predictive maintenance.
- Perform FMEA-based reliability assessments.
- Evaluate equipment criticality.
- Report and analyze technical KPIs via dashboards.
- Support complex troubleshooting.
- Support lifecycle process improvements.
- Leverage expert knowledge for improvements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and support teams.
- Promote advanced methods and tools.
- Integrate advanced methods into daily operations.
- Represent Reliability Engineering during inspections.
- Prepare for health authority inspections and audits.
- Present during health authority inspections and audits.
- Support health authority inspections and audits.
- Follow up on health authority inspections and audits.
- Ensure effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Serve as a member of the E&S Leadership Team.
- Set team goals.
- Drive team development.
- Coach and mentor team members.
- Assess team performance.
- Identify and implement production quality improvements.
- Identify and implement plant efficiency improvements.
- Identify and implement cost-effectiveness improvements.
- Identify and implement overall process optimization.
