Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • 7-10 years software engineering experience in sensor systems, calibration, or sensor fusion
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration or device production
  • Camera, LiDAR, IMU calibration experience with geometric models
  • Strong C++ development in production codebase
  • Solid Python for tooling, scripting, and automation
  • Experience leading or mentoring software teams
  • People development and task coordination skills
  • Cross-functional stakeholder communication skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly
  • Deep passion for sensors
  • Proficiency in Linux
  • Experience with C++ libraries (Ceres, Eigen, OpenCV, PCL, ROS, Boost)
  • Background in 2D/3D geometry optimization problems
  • Familiarity with SLAM systems and calibration quality impact
  • Exposure to ML-based perception techniques
  • Track record contributing to open-source software

Tasks

  • Lead and mentor calibration software engineers
  • Set technical direction for the team
  • Run regular one-on-one meetings
  • Support career development of team members
  • Own team performance with the department lead
  • Manage end-to-end calibration process
  • Design and implement calibration methodologies
  • Supervise production rollout and ongoing calibration
  • Drive accuracy, repeatability, and scalability
  • Promote automation and faster iteration cycles
  • Develop deep sensor knowledge
  • Build team expertise on sensor design and behavior
  • Serve as primary technical liaison
  • Ensure rapid feedback loops with production
  • Anticipate calibration evolution with new hardware
  • Collaborate on ML-based pipelines and automation
  • Identify and resolve calibration issues
  • Translate production feedback into software improvements
  • Contribute hands-on to the codebase
