Simulation & Sim2Real Engineer Robotics(m/w/x)
Developing simulation workflows for intelligent precision assembly robotics, utilizing Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Cosmos. Experience applying diffusion models for domain adaptation needed. Focus on force-moment-sensing and image-processing tech.
Requirements
- Experience applying diffusion models for domain adaptation or style transfer tasks (image-to-image, sequence-to-sequence transformations)
- Understanding of camera pipeline artifacts, depth noise, encoding/compression effects, and modeling as learned transformations
- Experience modeling real actuator behavior (latency, hysteresis, compliance, constraints) as learned or residual models
- Hands-on ownership of robotics simulation pipelines (environment configuration, episode generation, output validation)
- Experience measuring sim-to-real transfer quality via downstream task performance
- Experience with deterministic pipeline design (GPU non-determinism, seed management, cross-machine reproducibility)
Tasks
- Develop and maintain simulation workflows.
- Utilize Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Cosmos for development.
- Ensure deterministic configurations and seeds.
- Integrate CI-integrated smoke tests.
- Generate scalable, high-quality synthetic ground truth data.
- Include segmentation, depth, state, pose, contacts, and rewards.
- Develop and apply learned sensor realism models.
- Model sensor noise, artifacts, blur, rolling shutter, compression, and lighting.
- Develop and apply actuator or dynamics residual models.
- Model actuation latency, backlash, saturation, compliance, and drift.
- Provide realism layer as a module with CLI/API.
- Ensure reproducible configurations for the realism module.
- Integrate realism module into offline dataset generation.
- Integrate realism module into online simulation augmentation.
- Integrate realism module into downstream benchmarking.
- Evaluate sim-to-real quality via distribution matching.
- Measure downstream task impact for evaluation.
- Conduct ablation studies for sim-to-real quality.
