Requirements

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable technical discipline
  • 8+ years experience with vehicle or control systems
  • Ideally leadership experience in project or line organizations
  • Experience in all development process phases
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Knowledge of railway software processes or equivalent experience
  • Experience in R&D and innovative solutions
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Excellent communication in German and English

Tasks

  • Develop and integrate state-of-the-art metro control systems
  • Manage central vehicle and drive/brake control
  • Oversee traction and automatic train control
  • Analyze customer requirements for metro vehicles
  • Develop system and software solutions
  • Conduct testing and final customer acceptance
  • Create technical specifications for external components
  • Select and qualify external suppliers
  • Lead expert teams technically and organizationally
  • Coordinate with colleagues across Siemens Mobility locations
  • Contribute to research and development activities
  • Create innovative solutions for future metros
  • Travel to customers and suppliers internationally
  • Support vehicle commissioning at factories or on-site
