Senior Procurement Specialist/Category Manager(m/w/x)
Category strategy development for direct/indirect spend and Capex procurement in diagnostics. 8+ years procurement experience, including Capex in life sciences, required. 4-day work week, company car for private use.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years progressive experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing
- Proven Capex procurement management experience, ideally in medical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sector
- Track record of delivering cost savings or value improvements through change projects
- Hands-on experience in low-maturity or developing procurement function
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize demands, and make sound decisions
- Strong analytical capabilities, comfortable with Excel and Power BI or equivalent tools
- Experience collaborating with global or matrix procurement teams
- Fluency in English and French (C1 minimum)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
- Agility to shift focus between strategic and urgent operational tasks
- Proactive builder, identifying and proposing improvements for processes and tools
- Collaborative approach, able to bring stakeholders along on strategic decisions
- High learning-curve capability for unfamiliar categories or markets
Tasks
- Develop and implement category strategies for direct and indirect spend
- Lead sourcing events end-to-end
- Drive change projects for cost savings and efficiency
- Manage Capex procurement for equipment and facilities
- Build and maintain supplier performance management framework
- Coordinate Swiss strategies with global procurement
- Manage requisitions and resolve supplier issues
- Support adoption of procurement tools and systems
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, quality, and lab teams
- Ensure compliance with procurement guidelines and regulations
