Description

As a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing the Nyx spacecraft by ensuring that materials and processes meet stringent spaceflight standards, collaborating with teams to optimize design and manufacturing, and maintaining rigorous quality controls.

Requirements

• •Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in Engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
• •Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials and process engineering
• •Some knowledge in programming (Python, Fortran, Matlab)
• •Fluency in English; German and French are an asset
• •Strong oral and written communication skills
• •Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
• •Strong organizing and prioritization skills

Tasks

• •Perform trade studies for technical solutions related to Materials and Processes
• •Define and maintain Materials and Processes requirements for Earth and Moon missions
• •Support reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with ESA and NASA standards
• •Assess supplier processes against Materials and Processes requirements
• •Provide recommendations for supplier qualification and acceptance testing
• •Define and qualify in-house inspection and manufacturing processes
• •Collaborate with subsystem teams to ensure efficient design for manufacturing and testing
• •Review CAD and manufacturing drawings for compatibility with planned processes
• •Define and enforce Materials and Processes standards and certifications
