Requirements
- Degree in physics, preferably quantum science/technology
- Background in quantum computing, information, or many-body physics
- Ability to undertake high-quality scientific work
- Experience with scientific computing (Python, Julia, or similar)
- Ability and willingness to work across theory and implementation
- Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team
- PhD in relevant quantum physics field
- Strong track record of scientific publications
- Prior experience in quantum error correction/coding theory
- Familiarity with stabilizer formalism, topological codes, qLDPC codes
- Experience with numerical simulation of stabilizer states
- Experience with decoding under circuit-level noise models
- Familiarity with collaborative software development environments/tools
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to present results clearly and effectively
- Understanding of neutral-atom platforms (asset)
- High motivation for ambitious scientific/technological challenge
- Curiosity and willingness to engage with complex problems
- Comfort with change and open-ended challenges
- Ability to work independently
- Actively contributing to collaborative research environment
- Sharing knowledge across teams

Tasks
- Shape planqc’s fault-tolerant quantum computation roadmap
- Take ownership of QEC workstreams
- Drive design decisions on code choice and fault-tolerant protocols
- Contribute to fault-tolerance milestones
- Develop quantum error correction schemes for neutral-atom architectures
- Perform numerical simulations of QEC protocols
- Benchmark decoders under realistic noise models
- Analyze trade-offs between error correction schemes
- Build and maintain simulation and benchmarking tools
- Collaborate with quantum algorithm engineers
- Co-design quantum algorithms leveraging platform-specific features
- Collaborate with hardware and control teams
- Implement fault-tolerant protocols aligned with system constraints
- Stay updated on quantum error correction advances
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing
- Contribute to planqc’s intellectual property
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals
- Represent planqc at conferences and in the quantum computing community
