Post Doctorate Scientist (IHB) - In Vitro Modeling Adaptive Immunologist(m/w/x)
Designing in vitro models for adaptive immune responses in human neuroinflammation, including MS and Alzheimer's. Deep expertise in adaptive immune biology and hands-on flow cytometry required. Multi-omic dataset generation, cell sorting, and publications track record.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Neuroimmunology/Neuroinflammation, Bioengineering, or related field
- Doctoral studies completed within last four years
- Strong track record of productivity (publications)
- Deep expertise in adaptive immune biology (T-/B-cell biology)
- Strong hands-on flow cytometry and cell sorting experience
- Experience with primary human cells and/or tissue samples
- Experience establishing/working with in vitro model systems
- Experience generating multi-omic datasets (single-cell RNA-seq, immune profiling)
- Interest in downstream data analysis collaboration
- Strong interest in human immunology and neuroinflammation
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills
- Professional fluency in English
- Research experience in neuroinflammation (MS, AD)
- Familiarity with CNS and/or meningeal biology
- Experience with stromal cell biology and/or tissue niche interactions
- Experience studying/modeling tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS)
- Experience developing advanced in vitro systems (co-culture, organoids, ex vivo)
- Experience with advanced immune profiling (spectral flow cytometry)
- Exposure to spatial biology workflows or sample preparation
- Experience collaborating with computational biology teams
- Basic coding skills (R or Python) are a plus
- Interest in translating human biology insights to therapeutics
Tasks
- Design and execute experimental strategies for adaptive immune responses in human neuroinflammation
- Develop in vitro model systems for CNS meningeal inflammation and immune–stromal interactions
- Model disease-relevant immune responses in conditions like multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease
- Perform deep immune phenotyping and generate multi-omic datasets
- Characterize immune–stromal interactions and define adaptive immune cell states
- Functionally validate and refine in vitro models using human atlases and translational goals
- Collaborate with computational scientists to translate cell states into testable hypotheses
- Iteratively refine in vitro models based on human data
- Engage with IHB and pRED teams to align findings with translational questions in Neuroscience and Rare Diseases
- Contribute to long-term portfolio impact in Neuroscience and Rare Diseases
- Communicate findings through scientific manuscripts, presentations, and cross-functional discussions
- Articulate experimental insights and their relevance to human biology and therapeutic strategy
