Requirements
- •Masters’ Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication and Signal Processing, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
- •Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus
- •First practical experience in Satellite Communication or Satellite Navigation
- •Deep knowledge of digital signal processing and RF channel modelling
- •Skill to transform signal processing and RF-chain models into clean Matlab scripts
- •Good knowledge of GNSS signals
- •Hands-on experience with FPGA programming; ideally VHDL knowledge

Tasks
- •Analyze and improve digital beamforming
- •Evaluate architectural concepts
- •Define efficient beamforming processing for low distortions
- •Enhance robustness to RF chain and navigation antenna performance variations
- •Analyze and improve on-board autonomous signal distortion equalization techniques
- •Model non-linear, frequency-dependent channel characteristics of high-power amplifiers
- •Define improved equalization techniques for GNSS signals in digital beam-formed payloads
- •Deepen understanding of SiS performance for small bandwidth signals
- •Model navigation signal generator, beamforming, equalization, RF payload, and navigation antenna
- •Develop a Matlab-based simulator
- •Validate designs on hardware
- •Implement solutions in hardware, software, and FPGA, followed by validation
- •Conduct trade-offs for space implementation, including functional architecture with space-grade FPGAs
- •Implement in COTS hardware, FPGA, and software
- •Validate with on-ground demonstrator
