Requirements

  • Knowledge of numerical simulation (e.g. FEM)

  • Strong interest in Aerospace technologies

  • Good communication skills and interdisciplinary teamwork

Tasks

  • Conduct literature review on ultra-thin nickel-base alloy sheet welding
  • Develop thermo-mechanical simulation model for predicting welding-induced distortion
  • Analyze key influencing factors including clamping layout, sheet cutting-edge preparation, and welding parameters
  • Design and develop optimized clamping concept prototype
  • Perform experimental welding trials to validate numerical results
  • Elaborate design guidelines for clamping concepts, welding parameters, and sheet cutting-edge preparation

  • Currently in higher education
