- Enrolled full-time student in Aerospace Engineering (Aeronautical Structures)
- Fluent English
- CATIA 5 skills (nice to have)
- Ability to perform preliminary sizing of loaded structures (nice to have)
- Good skills with OFFICE tools or Google based Tools
- Team player and motivated master student
- Traveling overseas or within Germany possible after consultation
Tasks
- Develop preliminary structure design for an amphibious firefighter aircraft
- Investigate existing similar aircraft for technical solutions
- Define best structural design principles
- Perform trade-offs among structural solutions using Design to Value
- Create an Airframe Architecture Dossier
- Select design solutions and document their rationale
- Focus on Structural Architecture and select best component concepts
- Define airframe architectural principles
- Minimize cost and weight
- Maximize manufacturability
- Ensure quick aircraft repairability
- Develop 3D CATIA models of the aircraft
- Perform preliminary sizing of relevant components
