Requirements
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field
- Strong theoretical background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, control systems, electrical power systems, and optimization methods
- Practical knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python for modeling, simulation, and data analysis
- Good understanding of aircraft systems, particularly the Environmental Control System (ECS) and electrical power generation/distribution
- Experience with large datasets and Machine Learning techniques for system identification or predictive control
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Tasks
- Develop data-driven models for aircraft air systems
- Analyze energy demand across various flight phases
- Investigate pneumatic-electric system architectures
- Assess impact on aircraft energy consumption
- Conduct trade-off analyses between performance and energy consumption
- Implement optimization strategies in simulation environments
- Evaluate potential fuel savings and system impact
