- Familiarity with hydrogel systems, extracellular matrices, microfabrication, microscopy, or computational design (desirable)

Tasks
- Design and fabricate microfluidic platforms
- Optimize biomaterial composition and mechanical properties
- Support neuronal compartment stability and vascular maturation
- Establish and maintain in vitro neurovascular unit (NVU) model
- Assess barrier integrity and permeability quantitatively
- Analyze neurovascular responses using live imaging and molecular profiling
- Collaborate with postdoctoral researcher on project tasks
- Gain hands-on experience in microphysiological system design
- Conduct functional validation of engineered tissues
- Engineer platforms for mechanical stimulation and measurement
- Explore mechanobiology across scales in vitro
- Develop computational models for tissue organization
- Use magnetic and fluid/solid mechanics principles to build tools
- Locally mechanically stimulate cells and deliver traumatic injuries
- Measure local mechanics of tissues
- Quantify multicellular dynamic cell-ECM interactions
- Combine transcriptomics with mechanical data in mechano-transcriptomics maps
- Describe cell organization strategies through computational models
Education
- Currently in higher educationOR
- Bachelor's degree
