Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related life science discipline
  • Strong hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, advanced PCR/RT-PCR design)
  • Practical experience with NGS library preparation protocols and sequencer operation (very strong advantage)
  • Practical experience with NGS data analysis and custom pipeline building (strong advantage)
  • Meticulousness and detail-orientation
  • Ability to thrive in product-focused R&D environment
  • Enjoyment of building and optimizing new protocols
  • Business-fluent English
  • German language skills (substantial advantage)
  • MS Office skills

Tasks

  • Execute laboratory experiments
  • Develop NGS workflows for diagnostics
  • Optimize NGS workflows for diagnostics
  • Validate NGS workflows for diagnostics
  • Prepare sequencing libraries
  • Operate Illumina MiSeq i100 platforms
  • Operate Oxford Nanopore MinION platforms
  • Operate Promega Sanger systems
  • Establish initial workflows from scratch
  • Define standard operating procedures from scratch
  • Record and document experimental data accurately
  • Ensure compliance with IVDR / ISO 13485
  • Adhere to regulatory standards for product launches
  • Troubleshoot assay performance
  • Optimize PCR chemistries
  • Streamline protocols for maximum stability
  • Streamline protocols for customer ease-of-use
