Internship Industrial IoT Engineering(m/w/x)
Building IoT Factory Demonstrator with PLC configuration and cloud data transmission. First software implementation experience on edge devices required. Hybrid work, global experience.
Requirements
- Master's program enrollment in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, IoT, Computer Science, or related field
- First experience in software implementation on edge devices
- Familiarity with cloud connectivity via MQTT
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- German language skills beneficial
- Familiarity with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens)
- First experience with workflow tools (e.g., Node-RED)
- Hands-on experience with I/O-Link sensors
- Hands-on experience with serial based sensors
- Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, I/O Link)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Open-minded personality
- Flexible personality
- Pro-active personality
- Strong team player mindset
- Availability for full-time internship in Düsseldorf
- Internship duration up to six months
Tasks
- Support deployment of standard edge connectivity solution
- Develop and build connectivity flow
- Build IoT Factory Demonstrator
- Configure PLC and edge devices
- Transmit data to cloud endpoint
- Support additional IoT projects on demand
- Conduct market research and analysis
- Support product management decisions for hardware and software
- Create and maintain project documentation
- Create and maintain product documentation
- Prepare operation manuals
- Prepare security documentation
- Prepare presentations and reports
- Support project and meeting presentations
Education
- Currently in higher education
