Requirements
- Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or VP of Engineering experience
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Expertise in building scalable processes and standards
- Track record of coaching managers and Senior+ Engineers
- Strong understanding of engineering impact on product and revenue
- Ability to translate business goals into technical priorities
- Willingness to adapt to team culture and processes
- Knowledge of modern scalable practices and data-intensive architectures
- Strong skills in solving disagreements and achieving alignment
- Experience collaborating in fully-remote environments
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
Tasks
- Lead engineering organization through growth phase
- Define technical vision and North Star
- Introduce scalable processes and standards
- Partner with CTO, Product, and ML leaders
- Preserve culture of ownership and psychological safety
- Shape engineering strategy for 10x usage growth
- Set clear technical roadmaps and standards
- Facilitate organization-wide engineering planning
- Advance necessary investments for growth
- Develop strong product, business, and talent strategy
- Align hiring strategy with organizational goals
- Improve procedures for talent attraction and retention
- Prevent silos and duplicate work
- Support cross-team coordination with Product
- Drive development of Engineering Managers
- Coach and support career progression
- Build career ladders for Senior+ Engineers
- Collaborate on SDLC, QA practices, and SLOs
- Monitor and improve engineering health
- Track metrics and mitigate risks
- Lead retrospectives on planning and delivery
