Engineering Project Lead(m/w/x)
Directing engineering work plans for low-voltage Lithium-Ion battery development in the automotive sector. Proven Systems Engineering or Technical Project Leadership experience in automotive, with strong low-voltage Lithium-Ion battery understanding, required. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with extensive industry experience
- Technical Master’s degree (thesis track or equivalent) in related field with proven industry experience
- Scientifically relevant Ph.D. from a technically rigorous program and institution with some industry experience
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering or Technical Project Leadership, particularly in the automotive industry
- Strong understanding of low voltage Lithium-Ion batteries including electronics and software
- Experience with complex systems and automotive customers
- Experience with automotive Functional Safety, ISO26262
- Experience in ASPICE
- Experience with JIRA and JAMA
- Excellent project management skills
- Team player, supportive attitude
- Fluency in English and German
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the working time
Tasks
- Create and maintain detailed engineering work plans
- Lead the Engineering Development Team (EDT)
- Publish and maintain the engineering Issues, Risks, and Opportunities document
- Ensure timely completion of Design Sign Off (DSO), Requirements Sign Off (RSO), and Safety Sign Off (SSO) documentation
- Act as the primary engineering contact for customers
- Manage project engineering budget and resource planning
- Coordinate design efforts of functional engineering teams across multiple locations
- Participate in the specification and design of battery components, including cell, mechanical, software, and electronics/BMS
- Manage cross-functional engineering teams for optimized system design
- Assist in design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize manufacturing processes
- Release complete battery systems to assembly plants
- Develop relationships with suppliers for component specifications and make vs. buy analysis
- Support APQP efforts to ensure quality product delivery
- Assist in developing and implementing control plans
- Manage engineering documentation for proper information archiving
- Provide technical direction to designers, engineers, suppliers, and support personnel
