Energy Systems Data Engineer(m/w/x)
Analyzing BESS component operational data for net-zero energy insights. Python and SQL skills required. Company EV for private use, jobrad for active transport.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional experience with energy hardware systems (ideally BESS)
- Hands-on exposure to BESS in operational, engineering, or analytical role
- Strong Python skills
- Strong SQL skills
- Ability to turn exploratory insights into production-ready software
- Version-controlled software development
- Derive meaningful KPIs from raw datasets
- Operational understanding of energy systems
- Understanding of time-series data (SCADA, BEMS, inverter logs)
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, code reviews, maintainability)
- Effective collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Experience in fast-paced environments
- Excellent English verbal communication skills
- Excellent English written communication skills
- Experience with cloud data tools (AWS, Spark, Databricks) is a plus
- Experience with battery storage projects at system level is a plus
Tasks
- Analyse operational data from BESS components
- Identify patterns, anomalies, and failure signatures
- Develop and refine KPIs and metrics
- Provide actionable visibility into system performance
- Translate analytical findings into product features
- Implement well-tested, production-ready code
- Integrate analyses with the platform
- Collaborate with data engineers and energy domain experts
- Validate analytical approaches against real-world operations
- Participate in customer-facing discussions
- Help scope integrations and understand operational contexts
