Leading equipment start-up and ramp-up for aluminium can manufacturing. Electrical or mechanical qualification or 5+ years on Concorde/Rutherford deco/printers required. Hands-on technical support during installation, coaching new team members.
Requirements
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification or Minimum 5yrs experience on Concorde or Rutherford Deco/Printer in Can Manufacturing
- Extensive hands-on experience with various decorators in can manufacturing equipment
- Strong capability in setup, troubleshooting, optimization, and line performance support
- Training/teaching qualification to minimum Train The Trainer
- Strong knowledge of full Can making process
- Subject expert in at least one specific area of Can making
- Ability to transfer Can making process knowledge to others
- Strong capability in equipment setup, troubleshooting, optimisation, and supporting line performance
- Competent computer skills for data analysis and report writing
- English communication skills (minimum communicative level)
- Experience with line launches or rebuild projects
- Ownership mindset with focus on continuous improvement
- Ownership mindset with focus on waste reduction
- Ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members
- Strong attention to detail
- Adherence to specifications
- Effective communication across all departments and levels

Tasks
- Champion a safety-first culture
- Ensure equipment meets compliance requirements
- Coach new team members on safety practices
- Lead equipment start-up and ramp-up
- Provide hands-on technical support during installation
- Ensure equipment meets design and performance specifications
- Serve as on-site SME for assigned process areas
- Guide the line toward stable, reliable, and high-performance operation
- Deliver 80% OJT and 20% classroom training
- Develop operator and mechanic capability
- Provide real-time troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Diagnose mechanical, chemical, and process issues
- Stabilize production quickly
- Support root cause analysis
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques
- Eliminate recurring issues
- Strengthen long-term reliability
- Validate SOPs and work instructions
- Ensure training materials reflect new equipment requirements
- Promote food safety and sanitation
- Ensure regulatory and internal compliance
- Assist with parts, tooling, and material readiness
- Verify availability of critical start-up resources
- Identify ongoing operational needs
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams
- Transition the line to steady-state operations
- Capture and document lessons learned
- Contribute best practices for future builds
- Achieve Efficiency and Spoilage targets
- Lead overall start-up performance in the Deco area
- Operate as part of a unified Start-Up Team
- Take shared responsibility for start-up success
