Deal Desk Manager(m/w/x)
Managing complex bids for octoplant software in industrial automation. 8+ years in B2B enterprise software bids for industrial automation solutions required. 20% pension contribution, language learning support.
Requirements
- 8+ years in bid, proposal, or deal desk roles in B2B enterprise software (ideally industrial, OT/IT, or cybersecurity)
- Proven success with complex €500K+ bids, multiple stakeholders, and formal procurement
- Strong commercial acumen
- Comfort with structuring scalable ARR deals and protecting margins
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership
- Deadline discipline
- Builder mindset
- Ability to design scalable systems
- Hands-on AI fluency and acumen (GPT, Copilot, Claude)
- Outstanding proposal writing skills
- Ability to translate technical depth into executive-level business outcomes
- Fluent English
- German strongly preferred
- Salesforce or similar CRM experience
- Familiarity with industrial automation verticals (automotive, pharma, utilities, CPG) and/or OT security regulations (NIS2, NIST, IEC 62443)
- Experience with APMP certification or formal bid/proposal methodology
- Exposure to SaaS business models, recurring revenue metrics, or B2B software go-to-market motions
- Experience working with channel partners and system integrators in international markets
Tasks
- Qualify RFP/RFI opportunities
- Map compliance requirements for bids
- Own content for bid responses
- Conduct reviews of bid responses
- Ensure on-time bid submission
- Lead Go/No-Go bid decisions
- Evaluate strategic fit, win probability, and resource impact
- Orchestrate cross-functional inputs and executive sign-off
- Manage post-submission bid phases
- Handle bid clarifications and BAFOs
- Manage Q&A for bid processes
- Coach sales on bid presentations
- Conduct structured post-bid reviews
- Feed insights into win/loss analytics
- Maintain AMDT's value proposition integrity
- Ensure alignment with ICP/ISP, vertical, and persona
- Ensure regulatory context for propositions
- Enforce proposal quality gates
- Ensure commercial accuracy for proposals
- Manage pricing models
- Structure multi-site and multi-year ARR
- Secure CRO approvals for exceptions
- Build and maintain approved proposal modules library
- Identify messaging and positioning gaps
- Drive improvements with Product Marketing and Product
- Build and own a win/loss analysis framework
- Continuously improve bid processes, templates, and approvals
- Enhance compliance controls
- Ensure proposals meet procurement, regulatory, and commercial standards
