AIT Thermal / ECLSS Engineer(m/w/x)
Designing and executing thermal and ECLSS test campaigns for orbital vehicles. Hands-on TVAC chamber and instrumentation experience required. Support for engineering drawing preparation.
Requirements
- MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Physics, or related field
- Over 3 years relevant experience in testing or integration
- Strong understanding of spacecraft thermal control systems, ECLSS systems, and test methodologies
- Hands-on experience with TVAC chambers, thermal cycling equipment, sensor systems and test bench setup, including pipe bending
- Familiarity with instrumentation (thermocouples, RTDs, thermal blankets, heaters, pressure sensors, actuators, etc.)
- Experience writing and executing test procedures and managing test campaigns
- Experience with CAD software preferably with Siemens NX
- Excellent problem-solving skills, autonomy, and attention to detail
- Fluency in English
Tasks
- Plan, execute, and analyze thermal and ECLSS test campaigns
- Manage system-level integration for test campaigns
- Design thermal test campaigns (ACTS, TVAC, thermal balance, thermal cycling)
- Design ECLSS test campaigns (Pressure Compartment System, Ventilation system)
- Support engineering drawing preparation for test bench components
- Define and manage flight hardware interfaces during integration
- Design 3D test setups and build test configurations
- Procure test parts and write/execute test procedures
- Oversee thermal/ECLSS tests with internal and external facilities
- Provide test results and generate comprehensive reports
- Correlate and validate models with the engineering team
- Collaborate with design and systems engineering on flight qualification
- Assist in writing mechanical procedures for assembly or test setups
- Improve processes and procedures using lessons learned
- Support factory setup and evolving mission requirements
- Ensure testing complies with spaceflight standards and protocols
