Requirements

  • Academic studies in physics or similar
  • Experience in accelerator physics, ideally synchrotrons
  • Expertise in longitudinal beam dynamics
  • Fluency in English; German an advantage
  • Python programming skills as an advantage
  • Knowledge of XSuite or MAD-X
  • Solid MS Office knowledge
  • Willingness to work on call
  • Willingness to work in shifts
  • Analytical skills and facts affinity
  • Flexibility, independence, and structured approach

Tasks

  • Perform beam commissioning of the accelerators
  • Design and engineer new accelerators
  • Execute simulations and data analysis
  • Analyze accelerator risks regarding beam behavior
  • Create test cases and requirements
  • Provide expert on-call support for Operations and Service
  • Participate in debugging and quality assurance tasks

Education

  • Master's degree

Languages

  • English – Business Fluent
  • German – Basic
