- Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits and measurement principles
- Hands-on programming in Python and/or C/C++ (embedded/hardware-interfacing context)
- Collaborative mindset with clear communication
- Comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Full business proficiency in English (C1 level)
- Full business proficiency in German (C1 level)
- Familiarity with energy metering communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, SunSpec, SML)
- Experience with single-board computers or microcontrollers (e.g. Raspberry Pi, ESP32)
- Experience building data acquisition or IoT devices
- Knowledge of residential energy hardware (solar inverters, wallboxes, home battery systems)
- Knowledge of how residential energy hardware exposes measurement data
- Experience sending data to cloud via MQTT, REST APIs, or similar
- Basic familiarity with InfluxDB or Grafana for visualisation
- Ability to take ownership of task end-to-end
- Preference for clearly scoped tasks
- Comfortable working at intersection of hardware, firmware, and cloud software

- Assess accuracy, protocol compatibility, form factor, and cost-effectiveness
- Research metering concepts and devices for precise measurements
- Evaluate options for AC and DC energy flow measurement
- Design detailed electrical installation diagrams
- Document full metering architecture
- Coordinate physical installation with installers and stakeholders
- Ensure correct placement and data quality
- Design integration device for live measurements
- Implement and deploy data aggregation and transmission
- Analyze and visualize measurement results
- Validate data quality and system behavior
- Calculate system efficiencies
- Identify offsets and inaccuracies in measurements
