Anforderungen
- Background in human anatomy, osteology, physical anthropology, faunal, or floral archaeological remains
- Familiarity with archaeological research, radiocarbon dating, or taphonomic processes
- Vocational or university training as biological/medical technical assistant, or comparable qualification
- Experience with sterile, DNA-free conditions, or professional experience as technical assistant in molecular genetics lab
- Teamwork, responsibility, diligence, and reliability
- Very good command of English language
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with large-scale databases
- Willingness and interest to work with skeletal remains and other tissue types
Aufgaben
- Coordinate sample processing for large international projects
- Document and process highly sensitive pre/historic samples
- Plan and execute complex molecular genetic experiments in clean rooms
- Operate automated DNA extraction and single-stranded DNA library preparation
- Archive and document experiment setups and results
- Write and present progress reports
- Update the in-house LIMS system with sample data
- Train and supervise new staff and international guests
- Coordinate student assistants
- Participate in weekly working group and project meetings
- Discuss work procedures, project progress, and project status
