Anforderungen

- Demonstrated ability in quantitative climate/energy analysis
- Demonstrated ability in applied scientific software/data work
- Strong understanding of climate policy concepts
- Motivation to support Paris-aligned outcomes
- Strong, demonstrable Python skills
- Commitment to reproducible research
- Proven experience in collaborative software development
- Git workflows (branching/PRs)
- Code review experience
- Unit testing experience
- Familiarity with global mitigation pathway modelling
- Hands-on IAM modelling experience
- Familiarity with emissions data harmonisation
- Familiarity with emissions data downscaling methods
- Familiarity with emulator-driven temperature assessment pipelines
- Some familiarity with equity approaches
- Some familiarity with just transition approaches
- Some familiarity with fair-share approaches
Aufgaben
- Contribute to core projects like Climate Action Tracker and National Pathway Explorer
- Produce policy-relevant indicators for 1.5°C compatibility, overshoot, CDR, methane, and fossil fuel phase-out
- Build and maintain robust, reproducible analytical workflows in Python
- Interpret temperature implications of key scenario indicators with climate scientists
- Develop and assess global, national, and sectoral mitigation pathways
- Support evaluation of country pathways and policy packages against Paris-aligned benchmarks
- Maintain and evolve Climate Action Tracker scenario and assessment workflows
- Support data harmonisation and downscaling workflows
- Work with IAM scenario databases to produce policy-relevant indicators
- Support equity and just-transition assessments of national pathways
- Design and implement scenario diagnostics and quality checks
- Develop and maintain reproducible, collaborative Python pipelines
- Contribute to shared team infrastructure and improve internal standards
- Participate in the development of methods to define and evaluate climate action
