- Understanding of tax issues, VAT, German accounting standards (HGB), non-profit regulations
- Experience accounting for grants (foundations, institutional donors, multilateral)
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Excellent familiarity with Excel
- Fluency in English
- Experience in non-profit organisations
- German language skills
- Proven ability to work independently and under pressure
- Very accurate, structured, and reliable work ethic
- Strong team player, ability to work and communicate efficiently in international, diverse environment
Aufgaben
- Support financial management of projects
- Collaborate with Project Managers on financial tasks
- Develop project budgets during proposal phase
- Align budgets with organizational and donor requirements
- Manage budget monitoring tools
- Create forecasts and cash flow projections
- Revise budgets as needed
- Monitor project expenditures against budgets
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor regulations
- Prepare financial reports for donors
- Submit payment requests according to donor requirements
- Compile internal financial reports for management
- Conduct budget vs. actual analysis
- Identify and address budget variances
- Support expenditure verifications and audits
- Oversee financial management of partners and sub-grantees
- Ensure compliance with agreements and donor rules
- Provide financial guidance to partners
- Monitor project expenditures in ERP system
- Ensure transactions are accurately recorded
- Maintain bookkeeping and accounting best practices
- Document all project-related financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with German accounting standards
- Prepare financial statements under local regulations
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Align financial procedures with compliance requirements
