- Proven technical leadership
- Ability to lead and review other cost engineers
- Ability to solve complex technical topics through structured solutions
- Ability to influence others for technical solution alignment
- Ability to breakdown component costs
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to present complex technical topics effectively
- Experience in fast-paced, measured, results-focused environment
- Proven team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with all levels of a global organization
- Accepts overall accountability
- Leading role in cross-functional teams
- Achieve financial and/or transformational targets
- Minimum 2 years developing costs models for components, modules, assemblies
- Experience with automotive electronic systems highly desirable
- Experience selecting/recommending automotive grade components desirable
- Ability to share knowledge and best practices with teammates
- Change Orientation: Able to adapt to changing demands and conditions
- Willing to travel up to 20% domestic and international
Aufgaben
- Utilize internal and external databases to build cost models
- Establish Design-to-Cost targets for components, modules, and assemblies
- Define best practice cost reference for Harman Automotive products
- Analyze cost breakdowns from supplier quotes
- Understand all cost influent factors
- Lead technical definition and implementation of cost modeling solutions
- Identify analytics to establish trend data
- Develop close technical relationships with suppliers
- Identify best cost solutions and emerging technologies
- Work with Engineering and Product Sourcing teams
- Establish reference cost targets during new business quoting
- Support Procurement teams during negotiations
