In this PhD position, you will focus on biofabricating a functional human heart ventricle model, utilizing advanced materials and 3D printing technologies, while collaborating with a supportive team of researchers.
Anforderungen
- Diploma or Master's degree in Tissue Engineering, Material Science, Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Medicine, or equivalent
- English language skills
- Highly motivated and reliable
- Teamwork skills
- Experience in hiPSC culture and differentiation, cell culture, tissue engineering/biofabrication, microfluidics, vascularization, and publishing
- Some German language skills (helpful but not necessary)
Aufgaben
- Optimize materials to enhance vascularization
- Establish 3D printing technologies for main vasculature integration
- Develop a microfluidic system to test bioinks for hiPSC-cardiomyocytes and -endothelial cells
- Create systems to assess the function of the ventricle model
- Establish and optimize 3D bioprinting procedures using silk/collagen-I composite gels
- Investigate matrix remodeling
- Facilitate vascularization of cardiac constructs
- Optimize ventricle-like heart constructs and integrate heart valves
