As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design robust components for soil sensors that thrive in tough agricultural conditions. Your work will involve collaborating with teams, creating detailed models, and ensuring that innovative designs are ready for production.

Anforderungen

• •Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• •Experience designing mechanical systems for outdoor or industrial applications
• •Strong understanding of metal properties and material selection
• •Hands-on experience designing parts for CNC machining
• •Experience with SolidWorks or Fusion 360
• •Familiarity with sealing concepts
• •Basic understanding of opto-mechanical design
• •Ability to work across disciplines and translate system requirements
• •Practical problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• •Professional working proficiency in English; German is a plus
• •Background in agricultural machinery or agri-tech equipment design
• •Experience with surface treatments or coatings
• •Exposure to field testing and iterative hardware development
• •Experience designing components that interface with abrasive media
• •Experience with CFD or numerical simulations
• •Familiarity with using simulation results to optimize geometry

Aufgaben

• •Design mechanical components for a metal soil sensor head
• •Engineer structures to withstand abrasion and impact
• •Select metals and coatings to minimize wear and corrosion
• •Design for CNC machining with a focus on manufacturability
• •Integrate optical components while ensuring alignment stability
• •Collaborate with electronics and optics teams on interfaces
• •Create detailed CAD models and technical drawings
• •Support prototyping and testing based on field feedback
• •Work with production to transition designs into manufacturing
• •Contribute to design documentation and engineering changes
