Anforderungen
- Master's Degree or equivalent certification in Engineering or Materials Science
- 4+ years of professional experience in material development and LPBF Additive Manufacturing
- Expertise in post thermal treatment of materials for microstructure and mechanical properties
- Understanding of impact of material composition on properties
- Broad experience in material testing for qualification and production
- Understanding of metal powder bulk physical behavior and testing methods
Aufgaben
- Lead key projects for new material parameters for Nikon SLM next-generation machines
- Support early benchmarking of new material products
- Develop parameter sets for new and existing materials
- Perform full qualification focusing on material performance, geometrical accuracy, process stability, and productivity
- Conduct full material characterization including mechanical properties, density analysis, microstructural investigations, and roughness investigations
- Optimize material chemistry and powder physical properties for best performance
- Define and develop new alloy systems for LPBF with internal and external collaborations
- Prepare detailed reports of experiments for internal use
- Write external white papers and conference presentations of developed results
- Execute deep statistical analysis of material properties data
- Collaborate with international customers, technicians, engineers, and scientists on material parameter development and qualification
- Define future requirements for next-generation LPBF machine products within the Nikon SLM Solutions family
