Industrial PhD Researcher(m/w/x)
Researching and designing packaging for high-voltage SiC switches, demonstrating feasibility in a lab environment. Hands-on lab experience with wide-bandgap semiconductor devices and gate-driver design required. Healthy meals in canteen, language courses in German and Mandarin.
Anforderungen
- Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent degree in Power Electronics, Power Engineering, or relevant Electrical & Electronics discipline
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory or R&D environment
- Solid knowledge of wide-bandgap semiconductor devices, gate-drivers, packaging, semiconductor physics, and power electronic topologies
- Experience in semiconductor static and dynamic characterization
- Familiarity with gate-driver design, including PCB design with analog and digital electronic circuits
- Experience in electrical characterization of power electronics packaging
- Good working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, Python, or Octave
- Target-oriented, structured mindset with eagerness to learn new topics
- Very good written and spoken English
- Openness to cooperate in a multicultural and international team
Aufgaben
- Perform literature analysis to identify challenges in Medium-Voltage applications
- Research high-voltage switches using Silicon Carbide power devices
- Investigate gate-driving techniques for voltage balancing
- Design and implement packaging technologies for high-voltage SiC devices
- Demonstrate feasibility and advantages of findings in a lab environment
- Attend academic conferences to identify trends in MV renewable applications
- Document research findings through patents, reports, and publications
