Anforderungen
- Solid understanding of search and LLM systems
- Comfortable working with backend engineers in Go, Java, or Python
- Understanding of search fundamentals (inverted indexes, vector search, query parsing, relevance scoring)
- Experience leveraging LLMs for search improvement or driving conversational search projects
- Hands-on experience with Agentic Engineering
- Ability to drive SDLC transformation to fully Agentic
- Experience running predictable delivery processes
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies
- Experience ensuring service reliability for low-latency, high-throughput systems
- Experience with monitoring, on-call practices, and incident management
- Understanding of safe change rollouts and regression detection
- Experience mentoring engineers
- Experience fostering inclusion
- Experience giving structured feedback
- Experience building a positive, productive team environment
- Ability to grow engineers into senior technical roles
- Ability to create a culture of ownership
Aufgaben
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering squad
- Own team health, engagement, and inclusion
- Ensure engineers have growth opportunities and clear career paths
- Develop engineers through regular 1:1s and feedback
- Manage engineer performance and set clear expectations
- Hire and onboard talent with backend and search skills
- Contribute to domain-wide recruiting efforts
- Own technical and delivery outcomes for services
- Deliver high-quality, maintainable services in Java
- Drive Agentic Engineering adoption
- Transform towards a fully Agentic SDLC
- Ensure reliable sprint execution
- Manage proactive risk management
- Communicate transparently with stakeholders
- Manage cross-squad dependencies
- Maintain service reliability through monitoring and alerting
- Respond to incidents
- Ensure on-call readiness
- Maintain runbooks and conduct blameless post-mortems
- Continuously improve delivery and operational health
- Improve cycle time and deployment frequency
- Manage safe reindexing rollouts
- Detect relevance regressions
- Translate product discovery goals into engineering work
- Set clear priorities for engineering tasks
- Collaborate with Data Science on experiments and A/B tests
- Measure relevance improvements using metrics like MRR, NDCG, and click-through rates
- Align the squad with business objectives
- Ensure improvements translate into measurable customer impact
