- First experience in laboratory, production, or technical environment (advantageous)
- Ability to follow established procedures and instructions
- Basic capability to document work
- Safety and quality oriented working mindset
- Good attention to detail and careful task execution
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Spoken and written English or French, with commitment to learn other
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree holders not eligible
Aufgaben
- Perform specialized surface finishing treatments using wet chemistry
- Degrease and etch various substrates including stainless steel, aluminium, and copper
- Electroplate materials such as gold, rhodium, silver, and copper
- Conduct precision cleaning for mechanical components in vacuum applications
- Etch, electroplate, and electroform prototype and series parts for CERN accelerators
- Maintain and monitor the workshop and waste water treatment plant
- Document work through written procedures and presentations
- Participate in developing and characterizing new processes for CERN projects
