- •Degree in Law, International Law, International Business Law, or Commercial Law
- •Law degree, International Law, and Bar Examination
- •Knowledge of international law, procurement law, and UN financial rules
- •Knowledge of UN privileges and immunities and service-oriented multitasking
- •Legal Research skills
- •Contract law applied by the UN
- •Commercial contract drafting, negotiating, and problem solving
- •Drafting legal settlement agreements
- •Risk mitigation in contractual agreements
- •Resolution of commercial contractual disputes
- •Negotiation with governments regarding privileges and immunities
- •Computer Literacy
- •UN/UNHCR Procurement Rules and Procedures
- •Cross cultural communication skills
- •Experience in international commercial law and procurement procedures
- •Expertise in UN system and Financial Regulations
- •Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- •Knowledge and experience in data protection
- •Legal research and drafting complex legal opinions
- •Proficiency in delivering clear oral briefings
- •Autonomous work, supervisory responsibility, and lawyer qualification
- •Managing multiple tasks under short deadlines
- •Master of Laws (LLM)

- •Review lease and inter-agency common services agreements
- •Represent the legal service on asset and procurement boards
- •Interpret UN and UNHCR financial and procurement regulations
- •Issue legal policy guidance based on international commercial law
- •Enforce legal standards across all areas of responsibility
- •Clear legal opinions and official correspondence
- •Supervise and mentor junior Legal Officers
- •Lead risk assessments to manage strategic and operational threats
- •Coordinate with internal bureaus and external UN counterparts
