Anforderungen
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, control engineering, software engineering, or related discipline
- Proven experience in control system design and system integration
- Strong understanding of industrial hardware standards and components
- Strong understanding of communication concepts and protocols (CAN, TCP/IP over ProfiNET, Modbus)
- Strong understanding of high-level concepts (OPC UA, CORBA)
- Experience in HMI/SCADA design and integration
- Proficiency in C, C++, Java, or Python
- Experience in commissioning and operations of complex control systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and system-level thinking skills
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities in multidisciplinary and multinational environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Command of English
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and LabVIEW
- Experience with embedded systems, PLCs, and real-time operating environments
- Experience in telescopes and astronomical observatories, particle accelerators, or high-precision scientific facilities
- Experience with data acquisition
- Experience with control frameworks such as EPICS, TANGO, or Alma Common Software is desirable
- Understanding of functional safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 13849)
- Understanding of CE certification
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in networked control systems is ideal
Aufgaben
- Contribute to advanced control and safety systems development
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of CTAO telescopes
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on high-performance control architectures
- Report to the head of Computing and interface with engineering groups
- Continue designing and implementing the Integrated Protection Safety System
- Define telescope-level use cases and operational scenarios
- Collaborate with instrument contributors to evolve control designs
- Guide in-kind contributor developers for compliance with standards
- Contribute to engineering Human-Machine Interface (HMI) definitions
- Upgrade engineering HMIs across telescope systems
- Provide technical advice on control algorithms and condition monitoring
- Enhance telescope performance and reliability
