Anforderungen
- 5+ years operating highly available MySQL databases at scale
- Deep MySQL expertise: replication, optimization, indexing, schema design, performance tuning
- Solid experience with ProxySQL and Linux in production
- Strong automation background reducing operational toil
- Comfortable with observability stacks and data diagnosis
- Experience running databases on bare-metal or on-premise infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with distributed databases
- Experience with Puppet or comparable configuration management
- Prior exposure to high-traffic, multi-tenant ProxySQL deployments
Aufgaben
- Administer and ensure reliability of Proton's web-scale MySQL fleet
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
- Design and implement automation to eliminate manual tasks
- Improve platform reliability through automation
- Write code and tooling for database management
- Monitor and scale the database platform
- Tune performance across hardware, OS, storage, network, and query levels
- Resolve performance bottlenecks proactively
- Provide guidance on database best practices
- Conduct product design reviews for architecture and data modeling
- Lead database version upgrades and full stack updates
- Minimize service disruption during upgrades
- Evaluate emerging database technologies
- Influence cross-company engineering standards
