- Very good knowledge in solid-state physics
- Prior experience in ultrafast electron diffraction
- Prior experience in microscopy
- Prior experience in ultrafast laser physics
- Prior experience working with high vacuum equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
Aufgaben
- Conduct ultrafast electron diffraction (UED) experiments
- Investigate structural dynamics in doped metal halide perovskites
- Use state-of-the-art 90 keV UED instrument with ~100 fs temporal resolution
- Implement radiofrequency compressed electron pulses
- Perform high-sensitivity direct electron detection
- Utilize tunable optical parametric amplifier and harmonic generation
- Design and implement cryocooling of samples to ~20 K
- Analyse diffraction data and interpret results
- Collaborate with colleagues on nanocrystal synthesis and thin-film preparation
- Conduct transient absorption spectroscopy and time-resolved photoluminescence
- Participate in modelling and complementary steady-state optical and electron spectroscopies
- Contribute to joint studies for a complete microscopic picture of material dynamics
- Engage in complementary MeV-UED measurements at major international facilities
