- Hands-on experience in mechanical parts manufacturing
- Basic understanding of compact CNC machines
- Familiarity with electronic board assembly, cable and wiring fabrication
- Assembly, wiring, and testing of electromechanical assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electronic schematics
- Ability to operate conventional machine tools
- Building, wiring and testing electromechanical assemblies
- Effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Technician in Mechatronic / Mec / Elect (or related field)
- Highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree holders are not eligible
- Valid driving licence
- English language proficiency
Aufgaben
- Fabricate and assemble electronic and opto-electronic test systems
- Operate CNC routers, milling machines, lathes, and drill presses
- Manufacture parts for ESE group activities
- Build wiring harnesses for test systems
- Assist in assembling and testing large-scale setups
- Create mechanical parts using machine tools
- Assemble wiring and fiber harnesses
- Solder electronic components onto PCBs
- Design simple PCBs after training
- Test cabling harnesses and assembled electronic circuits
