Anforderungen
- Advanced expertise in clinical research methodology
- Strong understanding of orthopedic clinical practice and research
- Advanced expertise in clinical study design, statistical principles, and evidence synthesis
- Experience designing and executing industry sponsored clinical studies as a CRO
- Experience in health economic evaluation and outcomes research
- Excellent scientific grant and publication writing and presentation skills
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements, GCP, and clinical research governance
- Medical Degree (MD) required
- PhD, MSc, or equivalent advanced scientific qualification highly desirable
- Formal training in clinical epidemiology, research methodology, biostatistics, or related disciplines advantageous
- Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical research within orthopedics, trauma, spine, CMF, sports medicine, or related disciplines
- Experience in multicenter clinical studies from concept to publication
- Experience in developing and managing research portfolios and strategies
- Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and grant acquisition
- Experience in line management and leading interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons and international clinical research networks

Aufgaben
- Provide strategic and scientific leadership for clinical evidence generation
- Serve as a trusted scientific advisor to AO leadership and committees
- Represent AO ITC in internal and external scientific initiatives
- Develop a high-impact portfolio of clinical studies across orthopedic disciplines
- Ensure optimal resource allocation and scientific excellence
- Support translation of evidence into clinical practice
- Lead the Medical Scientific Affairs team
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and service-oriented culture
- Define team objectives and performance expectations
- Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate team members
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations on resource planning
- Build effective collaboration with surgeons, governance bodies, and partners
- Drive continuous improvement of Medical Scientific Affairs processes
- Establish a culture of scientific excellence and compliance
- Lead the Clinical Science Advisory Commission (CSAC)
- Lead the AO ITC Clinical Research Fellowship Program
- Support the AO PEER program
- Develop clinical study protocols with surgeons and partners
- Review and assess adverse events and safety findings
- Provide expert advice on medical and scientific questions
- Support preparation of scientific publications and dissemination activities
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations on study planning and monitoring
- Support interpretation of study results
- Drive excellence in scientific publication and dissemination
- Lead scientific discussions on future evidence needs
- Develop and maintain a strategic clinical research portfolio
- Establish and refine portfolio prioritization frameworks
- Monitor portfolio performance and adapt research priorities
- Provide scientific leadership across the research lifecycle
- Collaborate on grant acquisition strategy and industry partnerships
- Support Knowledge Translation activities
- Facilitate adoption of new evidence in education and clinical practice
- Lead health economic and outcomes research initiatives
