Anforderungen
- Knowledge of physical geodesy and gravity field theory
- Experience in regional gravity field modelling using GRAVSOFT, GROOPS, KTH, SHGEO or another method
- Object-oriented programming experience (ideally Python and/or C++)
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Sense of responsibility
- Capacity to work in a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Spoken and written English
- Spoken and written French
- Commitment to learn basics of other language (English/French)
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Topography, Geodesy, Surveying, Geomatic or related field
- Master's degree with 2 to 6 years post-graduation experience
- PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Valid driving licence
Aufgaben
- Contribute to FCC studies, developing gravity field models and supporting sub-millimetric alignment.
- Contribute to CERN-Swisstopo collaboration to compute quasi-geoid model.
- Compute and validate quasi-geoid model for FCC area and Switzerland.
- Explore and propose solutions for modelling equipotential surfaces in tunnels.
- Participate in field observation campaigns (gravity, GNSS, leveling, astro-geodetic).
- Develop gravity field modelling software package.
- Supervise project team members.
